The Enforcement Division at DCWP seeks experienced employees to serve in Senior Inspector positions. The Senior Inspectors, reporting to the Borough Manager/Supervisor and upper management will be responsible for performing the duties of Inspector Assignment Level I, and current duties of Assignment level II, the senior inspectors will design and deliver trainings for staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Conducts business education, qualifying, compliance, undercover, patrol inspections and participating in multi-agency enforcement actions;

- Working closely with other Divisions in developing checklists through feedback;

- Developing training manuals/documents to support consistency in operations;

- Researching laws, highlighting issues, developing protocols and procedures for inspections;

- Following up on dismissals and developing relevant training to minimize case loss;

- Delivering training in a one on one and group setting as needed;

- Leading test runs and recommending quality control measures for efficiencies;

- Assisting Associate Inspectors by making spot checks of investigations and reviewing reports of Inspectors.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of full-time, satisfactory experience conducting investigations or inspections for a consumer or worker protection agency; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college; or

3. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience, which is equivalent to "1" above. College education may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of 30 semester credits for each year of required experience. However, all candidates must have a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent.

License Requirement:
Possession of a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York at the time of appointment. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment.

- Strong written and oral communication skills - Proficiency in Microsoft programs - Fluency in a language in addition to English a plus - Detail oriented and organized - Candidate must be experienced and comfortable driving any city vehicle (which may include a large vehicle) throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

Residency Requirement
