Job Description
The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish. Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, with latitude for the exercise of independent action and decision making, the assigned staff members will receive, review, approve, and process Discretionary contracts in the sum of $5,000 or greater from subordinates. The assigned staff will ensure accuracy and proper processing of contracts to oversight departments. In addition, the assigned staff will review and approve desk reviews and /or site visits completed by their assigned staff. Prepare and input findings on the DYCD database and provide a weekly update report to the Director of the unit. Assist CBOs that make requests or need technical assistance. In addition, provide support and follow up with the staff assigned. The selected candidate will support the Discretionary Grant process by providing technical assistance to providers and meeting deadlines on time. Provides technical assistance to program directors, staff, and contractors by answering questions, explaining procedures, and requirements on all issues related to contract documents.

- Performance of contractors consistently meets agency standards/guidelines Contracts, budgets, and monitoring documents are thoroughly and completely reviewed before submission to the Supervisor. Records/ enters/ codes information obtained, and action taken during interviews/meetings/ other activities, on standard forms/ applications, to ensure that records are complete and current.
- Entries/codes are complete, accurate, and legible.
- Entries are logical sequence.
- Entries are made within prescribed deadlines. Contract processing is done in a methodological way and using the contract checklist. Prepares standardized forms/ supporting documentation by selecting appropriate forms/ compiling/ entering required information/ submitting through appropriate channels, in order to initiate required proposed/ other services for the client.

Works closely with the assigned providers in a professional manner and prepares budgets, workscopes, contract documents, site visits, and/or desk reviews using the procedures established by the unit. Maintains liaison with two or more programs/centers/units, by obtaining/ conveying information/ providing feedback, to facilitate cooperation/ coordinate activities/ maintain current records

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
1. Must possess strong oral and written communication, organizational and analytical skills. 2. Strong ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities at once. 3. Demonstrated working knowledge of target populations shown through management of relevant programs. 4. Extensive experience in and working knowledge of developing human services programs and program budgets. 5. Knowledge of New York City contracting processes. Computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.
