Job Description
The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation’s oldest and largest public housing authority with more than 152,000 apartments and over 370,000 residents. NYCHA also administers a citywide Section 8 leased housing program that serves over 200,000 tenants.
Reporting to the Operations Manager at Riis satellite office, responsibilities of the Community Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Analyze and monitor contracts and contractors.
2. Monitor and/or evaluate programs providing important community services.
3. Review data and information from vendors.
4. Review data and information from field staff.
5. Cross compare data from vendors and field inspectors to determine discrepancies.

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
1. Experience conducting physical apartment inspections for public housing and Section 8 programs and/or 2. Experience performing lead-based paint correction and remediation work for public or private large landlord or contractor. 3. Experience using wireless handheld computer devices to record data. 4. Basic computer skills experience using Microsoft Outlook.
